N-and Group was featured in L’ECO di BERGAMO

Founded in 2015, N-and in Pognano currently employs 78 computer scientists of 17 different nationalities. The founder serves as a model of integration and dialogue. N-And aims to bring back to Italy and the Bergamo area technologies and manufacturing processes typically associated with the Chinese industry, positioning itself in the market for flexibility, punctuality, and speed of customization. This is the so-called reshoring, signifying the return of productions previously outsourced to Asian countries and is one of N-And’s growth strategies.

N-and specialises in the design, development, and production of technological products and cutting-edge software platforms for human-machine interaction. The company, founded in 2015 by Tarcisio Vergani, originally from Boltiere (Bergamo) and British by adoption, is now part of the IVS Group, a major player in the food service sector, particularly in the management of vending machines for drinks and snacks, holding 54% of N-And since October 2022.

The group based in Seriate and the technological company born in Bristol have developed and improved the design and manufacturing process of touch panel systems, aiming to bring back 100% of the production to the UK, covering every phase: research, development, design, and production of displays. Tarcisio Vergani emphasises, “We focus on advanced technologies that look to the future, spanning four different sectors, starting from the analysis of business intelligence data collected with IoT systems to engage with the user. Fifty percent of our turnover revolves around touch screens, allowing us to enter the market with hardware and consolidate the software part with additional business services.”

Since 2022, the majority (54%) of the company is owned by the IVS Group, potentially expanding the range of services offered. Vergani envisions new connections, saying, “One day in front of the office coffee machine, we could pay bills, for example.” To realise this vision, the first objective is to localise every aspect of the design and production phase in the UK.

In line with this view, N-And recently acquired RSR, a Como-based company specialising in embedded technological design. With the same objectives, the number of employees increased by 50% in the last year alone, reaching the current 78, mostly software engineers working in the Bergamo office opened after joining the IVS Group. Marco Gallarati, president of the Coin division of IVS, emphasises the importance of experienced individuals in manufacturing.

With an estimated turnover of around 14 million in 2023 and a growth forecast of 30% for 2024, N-And aims to contribute not only technologically but also by promoting diversity and integration in the province. Vergani states, “What I’m most proud of is that in N-And, there are 17 nationalities. An investment of 1.5 million Euros is planned to double the production area of Pognano with new offices and staff.”

The multicultural team of N-and, in addition to Britons, includes collaborators from India, China, England, Brazil, Ukraine, Albania, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Nigeria, Wales, Spain, Romania, Estonia, Poland, Tunisia, and Sweden. Vergani concludes, “Creating user interfaces requires multicultural feedback.
